Thrifty Thursday…

One day while driving home from work there was this Salvation Army store on the way to the expressway.  Well something said to me “Go into that store and see what they may have you can use!” So why not!  After rummaging through a very large store these are the finds.
A weathered tin planter $4

As of this time this hasn’t been used.  But after one trip to Michaels’, JoAnn’s or Hobby Lobby it will be filled with a plant and used for decoration for my ledge from the entry to my home. This is where it’s sitting now. But since the Lent promise of no craft purchases started and ended, no trips have been made there to fill it.  But give me some time and you’ll see something wonderful and it will be posted here!
A wall magazine rack $4

In the master bathroom there is a water closet. For those of you who don’t know what a water closet is it’s a little room within your bathroom where the toilet is located.  It’s a cool thing to have if you have a master bathroom.  While someone is in the bathroom you can handle your business in privacy.  A win win situation for you and your mate.  LOL  The plan for this is to spray paint it and attach it to the wall for my reading materials.  Gotta love it!
Magazine bins 25 cents each

These are already in use filled with one of many magazines subscriptions which come to the house.  It’s insane the number of magazines which can be found in my home.  But there is no shame! LOL
If you have never visited a Salvation Army, Goodwill or thrift store you should!  Also garage sales are great too.  There are some wonderful finds there!  The planter is very similar to something you would find at your local crafts store for three to four times as much as I paid for it.  Also the magazine rack would cost you around $30 brand new!  So don’t discount these places for decorating your home.
So the dare is on!  Go find something and post it!  You won’t be sorry!

Toodle Loo!
