Happy Mother's Day...

Well my Mother's Day was surely blessed.  I'm very fortunate to have my mom within a drive away from home so I was able to spend the day with her.  First we went to church and then we left and we stopped at Panera Bread Company for a late lunch.  Here are some photos.

Here she is after getting her food.  She had the "you pick two"  half of a tuna salad sandwich and fuji apple chicken salad with a chai tea latte and a cheese pastry.  As you can see we both enjoy eating. LOL!

Afterward we were able to visit my aunt who is staying locally at a hospice.  She has stage four breast cancer.   We didn't tell her we were coming and surprised her with the visit.  She was very happy to see us.  Here's a picture of them together.

My mom is on the steward board at church and she wears white on Sunday.  She also wears a little badge as you can see.  She looks really cute too.  My aunt had on a really nice bed jacket too.  Her hair was done and she looked cute too.

While there I gave my aunt a card and some flowers to dress up her room.  My mom brought her some flowers too.  I totally forgot to take a picture!  Next time I'll do better.

One tradition with my family is every special occasion (birthday, mother's day, Christmas) we give each other lottery tickets.  Usually scratch offs.  My mom got $25 in scratch offs (one $20 ticket and five $1 tickets).  She was too funny.  In the recreation room while sitting with my aunt she scratched them.

She won $10 on the $1 scratch offs and nothing on the $20 ticket.  Big time bummer.  I really wanted her to win something on the $20 ticket!

Oh well it's a gamble right?

We stayed with my aunt for about three hours.  She became tired and needed to go back to her room. Her dinner was brought to her and we left for the evening.  Overall it was a good evening.

My mother's other gift she opened while at the car.  I purchased two outfits for her and she loved them.  Let's pray they fit her well.  I want her to be able to wear them.  No pictures of the outfits but I'm sure I'll get a picture of her wearing them at some time.  She'll look so cute!

Overall it was a good day.  My aunt and mom are two wonderful people.  I'm so very fortunate to have them both in my life.

Love and Kisses to you all!
